DENTAL ACCIDENT
If you have a dental trauma, it is important that you act correctly and see a dentist quickly - preferably on the same day.
Injured tooth
Protect the tooth. The tooth may need to be stabilized with a retainer.
Fractured
tooth
It may be useful to save the broken piece of the tooth. Depending on the type of fracture, the tooth can be repaired with composite or a ceramic restoration.
Shifted tooth
Protect the tooth. The tooth may need to be moved into the correct position and will be stabilized with a retainer.
Knocked out
tooth
The tooth must be handled with care and be stored (in milk or tooth rescue box). Ideally, the tooth can be reinserted and splinted.

WE TRANSFORM TEETH INTO A SMILE
How much does emergency treatment cost?
The costs depend on the type of treatment. We would be happy to advise you in advance by phone or in the practice.
X-rays and an initial examination are often necessary (approx. 200.-).
In the event of an accident, the costs are usually covered by accident insurance.
DON'T BE LATE
What can I do until I get to the practice?
-
For toothache: Cool the affected area externally. Take painkillers.
-
If teeth are knocked out: Store the tooth in a tooth rescue box or in milk (only for a short time) and come to us immediately.
-
In case of swelling: Do not apply heat, but seek medical attention as soon as possible.

FOR ALL AGES
From what age are patients treated?
We treat small children, teenagers and adults. In our practice in the Schlossacker retirement and nursing home, we specialize in senior citizens.

WELL SECURED
When does an insurance company cover the costs?
In most cases, accident insurance is responsible for covering the costs of accidents. The insurance should also cover any consequential damage caused by the accident. For this reason, each case must be well documented.
If you have taken out additional dental insurance, costs for dental emergencies are also covered.
Only in rare cases the basic health insurance is responsible for covering the costs. There must be a medical condition.
✔ Tip: Visit the dentist every time you have a dental accident. Teeth that have been injured must be recorded. Insurance often covers the costs for life.
